CLEAN WATER ACT
CLEAN WATER ACT
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COLLECTION
The Clean Water Act is a pollution control statute that helps to protect lakes, rivers, and oceans from harmful pollution. It was enacted to restore the Nation’s waters. Under this law polluting businesses must obtain and abide by permits, which set limits on pollution and require compliance with water quality standards. The Clean Water Act empowers the public to enforce its provisions. Many grassroots environmental organizations play this watchdog role and closely monitor regulated entities to ensure that the law is being followed and waters are not being over-polluted.
Do some research to figure out which local groups monitor the waters in your area, and if you can support their efforts!
This collection was designed to raise awareness about important environmental laws while giving more back to groups that use these laws to protect the environment. 20% of sales go to grassroots environmental organizations.
